OUR HERITAGE

Ligonier Missionary Church was founded in May of 1968 with the original name World Gospel Church, located in Indian Village, IN. In July 1971, five acres of land was purchased 1 mile south of Ligonier on US 33 to build a new church, and was completed in October 1974. An educational wing was added in 1983 followed by a new sanctuary in 1991. The name changed to Ligonier Evangelical Church in 1986 to reflect where we were located and our denomination affiliation. In March of 2023 the East Central Conference of the Evangelical Chruch dissolved and our church body voted to join the Missionary Church. We changed our name in the fall of 2023 to Ligonier Missionary Church.

The church has been serving the Ligonier community for 44 years and has placed a great emphasis on fulfilling the Great Commission. Over the years the congregation has released men and women to serve in ministries around the world and has also helped plant three churches.
